Light Up Lemon Bay Fireworks Spectacular

After the VIP Party I headed straight out to Middle Beach to photograph & videotape the fireworks from behind the scene.  I suppose I should have given myself a little more time because between the rain... the traffic headed for the beach and all the new locked and guarded fences and gates at Middle Beach it took awhile to get there.   Plus now that they fenced it all in, there is bearly room for two cars to pass on the old dirt roads in the back... and the the first vehicle I had to pass was a very large, very red, Englewood Fire Truck parked in the middle of the road. 

 
 
 
When I finally got to the fireworks location, John Grimes was manually 
setting off one small 4" shells to let everyone know they were about
ready to start.
Remember the instructions on the package for setting off fireworks?

"Light and Get Away "
Luckily they now have e-match to set off all the rest. 
If you remember... they used to have to stand there and

I didn't have much time to set up 3 cameras and back up far enough to capture the very beginning of the show... so I just turned the cameras on and started shooting where I stood. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
But after a couple of these huge explosions directly over my head... 
I quickly realized I was still way too close even for my wide angle lens... so I grabbed the tripods and headed directly away from the display
for another couple hundred feet.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
A quick focus and leveling of the video camera and I was finally 
ready to photograph one of Englewoods most exciting events. 
Below are some of the highlights I captured from this show. 

I separate them with space so that they can be viewed separately... 
basically the same way as they were presented in the sky.

These photographs are a cross section of what I think are the most vivid images I recorded from a combination of styles that I've developed to capture these extremely fast moving images to share with you.
